Self Branding
April 17, 2008
The Self Branding project had to be one of best learning experiences yet. I would have never guessed that working with overall look and feel would be so challenging. The help that I received in class has been phenomenal. My classmates gave me more options than I gave myself. I felt in the beginning I was limiting myself to a more simple look that could get boring and just did not feel like me, but after the second critique with my class I felt better about the direction i took it in. Basecamp played a major part being able to post stuff and receive feedback help me a lot as well with taking away and adding to. This project I feel is going to jump start everything for me. I have been waiting so long to get my presentation together, and now that I have I can push forward possibly grow. This project could not have came at a better time. I am excited about finishing out and continuing to work with and presenting in the future.
Printers Guide Book
April 17, 2008
This one was one of my favorite projects. Creating a book was quite an experience. Having something with your work in it is always a good feeling. I loved seeing what everyone brought to the table, and how each page had useful information on it. The pages are very useful and having this book is just something I’ll have to show and yet use for a guide as well. A lot of local print shops are around, and i could really use that this summer and on in the future becoming a senior.
Working with AIGA
April 17, 2008
AIGA……………. wow what can i say this project got the best of me. I had no clue what the class or myself was about to be faced with. I actually had a good feeling going in but after the 2nd meeting I began to feel strong doubts about finishing this out. I would tell myself it was just them being clients or giving us a lesson on what we could possibly be faced with, but idea after idea was being shot down. The whole process begin to drain me mentally, but after they told us to loosen up things begin to flow. We began to run out of time and they begin to find what they wanted. The final outcome was something I for sure did not expect, but none the less I had a lot of fun with it. I do wish we could have took the name in and just went in our own direction, but I was satisfied with the ending it didn’t take much out of me at all.
The Brand Gap
April 17, 2008
The Brand Gap was a book that I did not expect to be an easy read at all. I actually thought it would be something I could not get into, but I loved it from start to finish. I never saw the world of brands being as serious as it is, and yet fascinating at the same time. I felt the information it provided was quite easy to take in. It didn’t provoke your thoughts or anything along those lines. It gave it to you straight up, and it has information that you can run turn back to in case you need help getting started. Its great for those that know how the brand process works, but even better for those who don’t the information given is simply useful. Its a book I’ll see myself reading again before this year ends.
Chat State
April 17, 2008
The Chat State trip was indeed an interesting one. I enjoyed seeing how the whole process worked together as a whole. If I had to choose the one thing that impressed me the most was the machine that created the fold. It was something so fascinating about it. I cant explain it, but just seeing that really helped me to think more outside the box when it comes to working with different ideas. The men had a lot of knowledge and knew what they were talking about that made the experience all the more informational. I would love to see them work with other stuff sometime in the future
